Yahoo! Labs Attempts to Deliver Personalized Content

Yahoo! and partners feel that the process of providing the highest quality content will likely be a mixture of computer and editorial intelligence. According to Yahoo! Labs, the system they are working with no longer sticks to the current method of titles, keywords and tags are not the best way to categorize content. Instead they use “individual article-specific models” which provide for better organization of content.

Google Acquires Metaweb, Because Words Suck

Searching for topics based on words is very difficult to do. In fact, we have to often times train our brains to say: “if I were writing about subject X, what words would I use?”. If you are wrong, you either have to continue trying keywords that may or may not be correct or simply give up your search. That’s why it is so interesting to me that Google recently acquired a company called MetaWeb.
