Rush Limbaugh is one of the most polarizing figures in America. As a fellow tech geek, I love to hear his comments on Apple products and the company as a whole. And even if you don’t agree with Rush’s politics, he’s dead on when it comes to his opinion on everything Apple.
If you were listening to this week’s “Open Line Friday” broadcast, Rush had some interesting things to say about Apple. As we sit on the cusp of Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference in San Francisco, Rush wanted to discuss his thoughts on the next iPhone and iOS 7. But aside from his take on upcoming products and features that Rush was hoping to see, what struck me as most interesting were his thoughts on why it seems the mainstream media has apparently turned on the company. After all, as Rush put’s it: “Apple’s a good leftist bunch. Why in the world does the tech media hate ‘em?”. Rush claims to not know the answer to that question. But he then goes on to point out that Apple takes a great deal of heat from the media because “they are not gonna do it ’til it’s the best. They’re not gonna put it out ’til it’s ready. They’re not gonna make any tradeoffs. They’re not gonna cut corners.”
And that right there is the answer. Today’s progressive movement and progressive media doesn’t care about getting things right. They don’t care about quality and they don’t care about taking time about making the right decisions. Instead, we live in a world of instant gratification where simply having an idea and jamming it down our throats is the preferred method. After all, these are the same progressives that passed the worlds largest healthcare legislation — simply to see what was in it. Similarly, they want Apple to immediately give us there latest pilot projects as soon as they’re coded.
But Apple is ignoring the mainstream media and are choosing to do exactly what made them the worlds best tech company for all these years. They’re choosing to work out all the kinks in order t release a quality product that they can be proud of — and their customers will love to use. And just like politics run by progressives — eventually the people will tire of half-cocked ideas and come back to quality and sensibility.
