, we have to use asymmetric eipoyctnrn. How do authenticate the networks and avoid MITM is a difficult one since it's almost impossible to tell a stranger that is honest from one that is not (more so when dealing with electronics instead of humans). This is the major problem and would require some authentification scheme that I think would need a central database (or several) or WoT to solve. At minimum every router should have a static keypair. Clients could choose if they want to have one static keypair for every network, random keys every time, or to have some static keys linked to chosen networks (such as a dedicated keypair for your own home network to authenticate to it). (Static keys for clients could have some privacy risks if they would be broadcasted before the client know that the router they are connecting to is the real one, so I think that random keys should be used when connecting to networks before the client authenticates itself. The authentification model of TCPcrypt happens to be similiar.)A possible method would be Qr codes or RFID/NFC tags that router owners could place where they can't be altered easily (like inside of windows), they could include public crypto keys and relevant details. Then it would be easier to link the network to a trustable entity.

Well, I guess I was wrong about the iPad 3 receiving a new connector plug. But since the model was simply an internal upgrade, I'm still betting on a connector replacement for the next version of the iPhone.

Agreed. The N9 is very well built. That bodes well for the new Nokia Win Phone 7 phones that are based on the n9 hardware design.

I got my hands on the N9 recently. There aren't so many places that sell it in the UK, so I ended up getting it from these guys. I have to say I’m pretty impressed. The main appeal of the phone is definitely the design. It’s beautiful both structurally and in terms of the interface.

I’ve had it for quite a few weeks now and the great thing is that it still looks new. By now, most of the phones I’ve bought in the past look worn, but this thing has no hint of any chip, dint or scratch. Must be a pretty solid build!

Thanks for the tip. It took me awhile to move from Yahoo to Google back in the day. I'll check out Bing as I'm not a fan of Google's meddling.

But now B&N has competition from Amazon and the Kindle Fire. I doubt the Nook Tablet will sell nearly as many as the Nook Color but I could be way off base. I haven't used the Kindle Fire but people are telling me that it's fairly buggy so maybe that will get people to look at the Nook Tablet in 2012. But you're probably right, if it can be rooted, it will be!

I agree that the nook color will be supported for a long time. Yes, many people have one, but the nook tablet is once again a rockin set of hardware with impressive specs. The only way to get a tablet for under 300 bucks is to sign a contract with a service provider. So enough people will buy the tablet for the same reason people bought the nook, no hassle, inexpensive, over speced, under utilized device with lots of potential. That is...as long as it doeesnt have a locked bootloader it will be rooted ROMed and rockin...I promise.

Hopefully pr 1.2 will go much better! But the 1.1 update is nice. Although there are still some bugs, pretty slick little OS. I hope they continue working on it!
